Robin Avery
Legal Assistant
Robin joined the firm as a Legal Assistant in February 2004 after relocating from the San Francisco Bay Area. In California, Robin attended Marin College where she studied court reporting. With three years as the office manager/scopist for a court reporting firm, four years as a real estate legal secretary, and then owning her own transcribing business, Robin brings a wide range of experiences as she assists Jim Cartiglia and Ryan Levy in the prosecution of patent and trademark applications.

Joan Binkley
Legal Assistant
Joan joined the firm as a Legal Assistant in March 2004. She graduated from Free Will Baptist Bible College with majors in Business and Bible. After college she served in her church's denominational headquarters as Editor and Writer of denominational curriculum materials. She followed that with over 24 years of experience as a legal assistant, bookkeeper, and office manager in four other Nashville law firms. She assists Ed Lanquist and Phil Walker.

Kimberly Conklin
Legal Assistant
Kimberly joined the firm as a legal assistant in October 2007 after relocating to the Nashville area from Maryland. She has over 10 years of legal secretarial experience in litigation and transactional law gained in Washington D.C. and Baltimore firms. She assists John Triggs.

Sandra Holland
Legal Assistant
Sandy joined the firm as a Legal Assistant in April 2005. Previously she worked with Murray, Inc. for 19 years and 8 years with United Cities Gas. Her experience has been in Engineering, Risk Management, Marketing and legal, especially with intellectual property matters. She assists Jack Waddey and Andy Thomson.

Beverly Laymon
Receptionist
Beverly joined the firm as its Receptionist in October 2003. She comes to the firm after having spent 12 years as receptionist/administrative support in the education field. She and her family relocated to Tennessee from Texas in 2002.

Jim Roberts
Legal Administrator
Jim joined the firm as Legal Administrator in June 2004. He is responsible for all business operations including financial, human resources, systems and facilities. He brings to the firm 17 previous years of experience in another Nashville law firm as well as 19 years of managerial experience in another industry. He has a B.S. in Business from The University of Tennessee.

Legal Assistant
Patti joined the firm as a Legal Assistant in May 2004. With over 20 years' legal secretarial experience in litigation and real estate, she now assists Mark Patterson and Dennis Nunez in the prosecution of patent and trademark applications and in intellectual property litigation matters.

Robert Vanasek
Controller
Robert Vanasek joined Waddey & Patterson, P.C. in 2001 to direct the financial operations of the Firm, including accounting, billing, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable management. He works closely with other members of the management team, with clients, and with vendors, to improve the efficiency of overall Firm performance. Rob has over twenty years experience as a professional accountant in both manufacturing and service industries. He earned his BBA in accounting (with honors) and MBA from the University of Memphis.

Claire Ulanoff
Legal Assistant
Claire Ulanoff joined the firm in 2001 after moving from Miami, Florida. She has 19 years experience as a legal assistant specializing in intellectual property law. Claire earned a B.A. in Fine Arts from Brooklyn College and a B.S. in chemistry and biology from the University of Miami. Claire assists Wayne Beavers and Emily Shouse in the preparation of patent and trademark applications, both U.S. and foreign.

Erin Zigli
Paralegal
Erin joined the firm as a Paralegal in October 2005. Erin attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham and received her B.S. in Criminal Justice and went on to earn a certificate from the Southeastern Paralegal Institute. She has five years of experience, primarily in litigation. As a key member of the Firm, Erin manages documents and performs research relative to infringement litigation issues.
