Wade K. Sims

Staff Attorney

Wade Sims joined Patterson Intellectual Property Law in 2014. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and licensing in patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret and data security matters. He also assists in patent prosecution for computer-implemented methods and helps clients protect their intellectual property through procurement, licensing, negotiation, and litigation.

Mr. Sims has professional and academic experience in technology law matters including intellectual property, fair use, data access and privacy, encryption, copy protection and digital rights management, software licensing, censorship, jurisdiction and sovereignty, communications law, and drone law. During law school, he clerked with Patterson Intellectual Property Law and completed an externship with the Tennessee Volunteer Lawyers and Professionals for the Arts assisting in arts licensing matters and nonprofit arts organization 501(c)(3) registration. Mr. Sims also co-founded the Belmont Legal Aid Society and Belmont Federalist Society of the Belmont University College of Law and was recognized upon graduation as a Tennessee Supreme Court Law Student for Justice.
