Matthew Cox joins Waddey & Patterson team

Matthew Cox has joined Waddey & Patterson, focusing his practice on patent prosecution and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the areas of patent, copyright and trademark law. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law, and is licensed to practice in Tennessee. Prior to law school, Cox earned both a B.E. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
His technical background includes experimental research in materials processing, with a focus on developing a novel method for controlling bubble formation during microgravity directional solidification. As a graduate student, he also gained experience in gas turbine engine technology and microfluidic device fabrication and worked as a teaching assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.
