Patent Protection & Registration

Patents grant property rights on new and useful inventions, allowing the patent holder to prevent others from using, making, or selling that invention without permission for a limited time. U.S. patents are permitted by the U.S. Constitution and are designed to promote scientific progress and invention. By allowing inventors to profit from licensing or selling their patent rights, inventors can recoup their research and development costs and benefit financially from their inventing efforts. There are three main types of patents utility, plant, and design. Utility and plant patents can last up to 20 years, while design patents can last up to 15 years. When a patent expires, the patented material enters the public domain, making it free to use by anyone without a license. U.S. patents are issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

U.S. Patent No. 12,385,310 entitled “Furniture Hinge and Piece of Furniture with such a Furniture Hinge” issued August 12, 2025 to Samet Kalip Ve Madeni Esya San. Ve Tic. A.S. of Istanbul, Turkey. Invented by Ertac Capur also of Istanbul, Turkey. Abstract: A furniture hinge includes a first hinge part for attachment to a furniture door or flap, and a second hinge part for attachment to a furniture body. A hinge assembly movably connects the first hinge part to the second hinge part. A damping element dampens an opening movement and/or a closing movement of the hinge assembly at least towards the end of the movement. The damping element includes a cylinder, a piston linearly movable in the cylinder, and a piston rod coupled to the piston and projecting from the cylinder. The cylinder of the damping element is fastened pivotably about a pivot axis directly or indirectly to one of the hinge parts at least during the opening movement and/or closing movement of the furniture hinge.

U.S. Patent No. 12,384,125 entitled “Method and System for Applying a Layer of Soundabsorbing Material to the Surface of an Inner Cavity of a Pneumati Tire” issued August 12, 2025 to Bridgestone Europe NV/SA [BE/BE] of Zaventem, Beligum. Invented by Roberto Pontone and Arnaldo Gentili of Rome, Italy. Abstract: A method and a system for applying a layer of sound-absorbing material to the inner surface of a cavity of a pneumatic tire comprising an applicator device having an applicator roller for implementing the application of the layer of sound-absorbing material to the inner surface after the removal of a lining and arranged, in use, at a position directly facing and in proximity to the inner surface and at a distance from the inner surface that substantially approximates the thickness of the layer of sound-absorbing material; a roller for winding the lining after the separation from the layer of sound-absorbing material; and further configured to make it possible to maintain substantially uniform the speed of the applicator roller and the winding roller.

U.S. Patent No. 12,384,945 entitled “Expansion Mediated Adhesive Device” issued August 12, 2025 to BVW Holding AG of Cham, Switzerland. Invented by Lukas Bluecher of Eurasberg, Germany and Michael Milbocker of Holliston, Massachusetts. Abstract: An adhesive device comprising a microstructure and polymer designed to interdigitate with the surface structure of a target surface. The device may include a microstructure material having an elastomeric, crosslinked polymer which may swell in the presence of a liquid. In the pre-swell state, the device microstructure may interdigitate with a target surface microstructure. When liquid on the target surface contacts the microstructure surface of the device, the liquid may cause the microstructure surface of the device to swell. The swelling may cause the microstructure to grasp the target surface resulting in adhesion between the device and the target surfaces.

U.S. Patent No. 12,385,568 entitled “Flow Plate Assembly and Method of Controlling Flow of a Fluid” issued August 12, 2025 to Deere & Company of Moline, Illinois. Invented by Jonathan D. Forster of Wann, Oklahoma and Jacob E. Morris of Oolagah, Oklahoma. Abstract: A flow plate assembly for installation in a housing defines a flow axis of a fluid therethrough and has a flow plate portion. The assembly includes a cap having a cap surface and a cap opening having a cap opening diameter. The assembly further includes a spring having at least one spring opening configured to allow the fluid to flow therethrough. The assembly further includes a flow plate having a flow plate surface and a flow plate central opening having a flow plate central opening diameter that is less than the cap opening diameter and at least one flow plate outer opening that is disposed radially outside of the cap opening such that the fluid flows through the at least one flow plate outer opening upon compression of the spring and movement of the flow plate surface away from the cap surface.
