Patent Protection & Registration
Patents grant property rights on new and useful inventions, allowing the patent holder to prevent others from using, making, or selling that invention without permission for a limited time. U.S. patents are permitted by the U.S. Constitution and are designed to promote scientific progress and invention. By allowing inventors to profit from licensing or selling their patent rights, inventors can recoup their research and development costs and benefit financially from their inventing efforts. There are three main types of patents utility, plant, and design. Utility and plant patents can last up to 20 years, while design patents can last up to 15 years. When a patent expires, the patented material enters the public domain, making it free to use by anyone without a license. U.S. patents are issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
U.S. Patent No. 12,225,953 entitled “Method of Treating a Textile with Graphene and Textile so Obtained” issued February 18, 2025 to Directa Plus S.P.A of Lomazzo, Italy. Invented by Giulio Giuseppe Cesareo of Milano, Italy and Laura Giorgia Rizzi of Saronno, Italy. Abstract: Method of treating a textile article by impregnation with a water dispersion of graphene nano-platelets in an impregnation bath comprising also a polymeric binder and an anti-migration and wetting agent. Graphene is fixed in the textile article to improve its thermal and electrical conductivity, as well as its filtering power and germ-blocking properties.
U.S. Patent No. 12,227,037 entitled “RFID Sensor Device with Patch-Type Antenna for Tires” issued February 18, 2025 to Bridgestone Europe NV/SA of Zaventem, Belgium. Invented by Maria Cristina Caccami; Gaetano Marrocco; Cecilia Occhiuzzi; Sara Amendola and Nicola D’Uva all of Roma, Italy. Abstract: The invention concerns an RFID sensor device (1, 2, 3) for tires, designed to be embedded/integrated, at least partially, in/into, or applied to, a tire (4) and comprising a patch-type antenna that includes a multilayer structure comprising: a bottom ground plane (10, 20, 30); an intermediate dielectric substrate (11, 21, 31) arranged on the bottom ground plane (10, 20, 30); and one or more top conductive patches (12, 13, 22, 32) arranged on the intermediate dielectric substrate (11, 21, 31) and covering partially or completely said intermediate dielectric substrate (11, 21, 31), wherein said bottom ground plane (10, 20, 30) and said one or more top conductive patches (12, 13, 22, 32) are short-circuited or capacitively coupled. The RFID sensor device (1, 2, 3) further comprises: a rigid or flexible board (15, 25, 33) arranged on said one or more top conductive patches (12, 13, 22, 32) and/or the intermediate dielectric substrate (11, 21, 31); an RFID chip (16, 26, 34) installed on the rigid/flexible board (15, 25, 33) and connected/coupled to said one or more top conductive patches (12, 13, 22, 32); a temperature sensor integrated into, or connected to, said RFID chip (16, 26, 34); and a pressure sensor (17, 27, 35) installed on the rigid/flexible board (15, 25, 33) and connected to the RFID chip (16, 26, 34). The bottom ground plane (10, 20, 30) is formed: by conductive textile/fabric/thread/fiber/yarn elements/layers or by a metal weft/net/mesh; or at least partially by conductive and/or metal elements/layers of the tire (4). The intermediate dielectric substrate (11, 21, 31) is made at least partially of rubber, or is formed at least partially by dielectric and/or rubber elements/layers of the tire (4).
U.S. Patent No.12,227,906 entitled “System Comprising Construction Machine, Transport Vehicle with Loading Space and Image-Recording Device, and Method for Displaying an Image Stream During the Loading or Unloading of a Transport Vehicle” issued February 18, 2025 to Wirtgen GmbH of Windhagen, Germany. Invented by Helmut Borkowski of Langerwehe, Germany. Abstract: In a system comprising construction machine, transport vehicle with loading space and image recording device, wherein the image recording device is arranged at the construction machine and aligned, as a minimum, also towards the loading space of the transport vehicle, it is specified for the following features to be achieved: that a reception and display device is arranged at or in the transport vehicle, wherein the data recorded by the image recording device are transmitted to the reception and display device via a transmission device arranged at the construction machine.
