Patent Protection & Registration

Patents grant property rights on new and useful inventions, allowing the patent holder to prevent others from using, making, or selling that invention without permission for a limited time. U.S. patents are permitted by the U.S. Constitution and are designed to promote scientific progress and invention. By allowing inventors to profit from licensing or selling their patent rights, inventors can recoup their research and development costs and benefit financially from their inventing efforts. There are three main types of patents utility, plant, and design. Utility and plant patents can last up to 20 years, while design patents can last up to 15 years. When a patent expires, the patented material enters the public domain, making it free to use by anyone without a license. U.S. patents are issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

U.S. Patent No. 12,448,906 entitled “System and Apparatus for a Diagnostic Breather Dryer Having a Coupleable Expansion Pack” issued October 21, 2025 to Des-Case Corporation of Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Invented by Nikhil Rajkumar Gaikwad also of Goodlettsville, Tennessee and Jonathan Lee Haworth of Hendersonville, Tennessee. Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are provided for implementing a system for providing a breather for a reservoir. The system includes a breather including a housing a dehumidifying element therein. The system further includes an operational sensor positioned within the housing, the operational sensor configured to output a sensor signal indicative of a measured operational parameter of the breather, and an expansion pack coupleable to the housing, the expansion pack is configured to receive the sensor signal indicative of the measured operational parameter and to transmit at least one of the measured operational parameter or a representation thereof. The system includes a control unit communicatively coupleable to the expansion pack having a processor, a display unit, and a storage. The processor executes a control application configured to receive the at least one of the measured operational parameter or representation thereof.

U.S. Patent No. 12,448,155 entitled “System for the Management of Loading and Unloading Operations of UAV” issued October 21, 2025 to Francesco Ricci of Santarcangelo di Romagna, Italy. Also invented by Francesco Ricci. Abstract: A system and method for directing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with respect to virtual segregated areas to guarantee safety levels. A host platform, upon receiving a request for delivery of goods from merchant to customer, transmit delivery instructions to a UAV, which is configured, upon arriving at a specified loading area, to: maintain a minimum elevation above the loading area; perform a recognition hand-shake with a merchant device; direct lowering of a winch to receive a load; and confirm a weight of the received load with respect to a maximum weight. Upon arriving at a specified delivery area, the UAV maintains a minimum elevation above the delivery area, performs a recognition hand-shake with a customer device, directs lowering of the winch to deliver the load, and confirms removal of the load, at least via a sensed weight applied with respect to a mobile hold.

U.S. Patent No. 12,447,476 entitled “Method for Determining the Layer Height of a Feed Material Supplied to a Crushing and/or Screening Plant of a Material Processing Device” issued October 21, 2025 to Kleemann GmbH of Göppingen, Germany. Invented by Steffen Häberle of Herbrechtingen, Germany, Till Krauss of Rechberghausen and Jochen Meier of Hulben, Germany. Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining the layer height of a feed material, which is supplied to a crushing and/or screening plant of a material processing device, wherein a conveyor device is used to convey the feed material in a conveying direction, wherein a sensor array comprising a plurality of sensors is used to determine the layer height of the feed material. A reliable method that can be performed with little effort and without impairing the operation of the material processing device is achieved by the longitudinal axes of the detection volumes of the sensors extending at least partially in and/or counter to the conveying direction.

U.S. Patent No. 12,450,794 entitled “Method for Nondestructive Reverse-Engineering of Layers of Printed Circuit Board” issued October 21, 2025 to RJ Matthews LLC dba Tetrahive Technologies of Brentwood, Tennessee. Invented by Robert J. Matthews also of Brentwood, Tennessee. Abstract: A nondestructive method generates a representation of a pattern of electrically conductive material on at least one layer of a multiple-layer printed circuit board (PCB). The method generates a plurality of imaging slices by evaluating the voxels in a 3D nondestructive data set to identify voxels having intensities representing electrically conductive material. The method establishes a reference plane that includes at least one voxel identified in a selected one of the plurality of slices. The method determines a distance of other voxels from the reference plane and adjusts the respective 3D coordinate of each other voxel to effectively position a respective adjusted voxel in the reference plane. The method generates a two-dimensional (2D) image that includes the at least one voxel and the adjusted voxels in the reference plane. The 2D image represents the pattern of electrically conductive material in the at least one layer.

U.S. Patent No. 12,450,075 entitled “System and Method for Rendering a Graphical User Interface for Defining Policies to Output Digital Content” issued October 21, 2025 to NewsBreak Media Networks, Inc. of Knoxville, Tennessee. Invented by Brian C. Nelson and Christopher Thompson also both of Knoxville, Tennessee. Abstract: An embodiment described herein provides for a server to receive an input to define a policy for outputting digital content. The server is configured to generate a data structure based on inputs received from a graphical user interface. The data structure is used to determine whether to output the digital content at a product terminal of a plurality of product terminals.

U.S. Patent No. 12,446,884 entitled “Microstructured Hemostat” issued October 21, 2025 to BVW Holding AG of Cham, Switzerland. Invented by Michael Milbocker of Holliston, Massachusetts and Lukas Bluecher of Eurasberg, Germany. Abstract: A microstructured hemostat comprising multiple layers of microstructure, each layer characterized by one or more length scales, is described. Microstructured hemostats of the present invention, can reduce the time for blood coagulation, control the morphology of the coagulation, and provide a novel diagnostic platform for evaluation of coagulation function from a morphological perspective.

U.S. Patent No. D1,099,254 entitled “Firearm” issued October 21, 2025 to CR3 LLC of Naples, Florida. Invented by Caleb Crye of Brooklyn, New York. Claims: The ornamental design for a firearm as shown and described.
