Patent Protection & Registration

Patents grant property rights on new and useful inventions, allowing the patent holder to prevent others from using, making, or selling that invention without permission for a limited time. U.S. patents are permitted by the U.S. Constitution and are designed to promote scientific progress and invention. By allowing inventors to profit from licensing or selling their patent rights, inventors can recoup their research and development costs and benefit financially from their inventing efforts. There are three main types of patents utility, plant, and design. Utility and plant patents can last up to 20 years, while design patents can last up to 15 years. When a patent expires, the patented material enters the public domain, making it free to use by anyone without a license. U.S. patents are issued by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)

U.S. Patent No. 12,756,059 entitled “Emergency Degassing Device” issued August 6, 2026 to BODO KONZELMANN KG of Löchgau, Germany. Invented by André Konzelmann of Bietigheim-Bissingen, Germany and Volker Buchmann of Rutesheim, Germany. Abstract: The invention relates to an emergency degassing device (10) for equalizing an internal pressure in a receiving housing of an electrochemical or electrical device, in particular for a battery housing, having a housing (20) which has at least one gas passage opening (27.2), wherein the gas passage opening (27.2) is blocked by means of a gas-tight, in particular air-tight, membrane (30) which is accommodated in or on a membrane mount (27) in the housing (20), wherein a cutting element (27.3) is disposed at a distance from the gas-tight membrane (30), which cutting element (27.3) is designed and positioned in such a way that, in the event of a predetermined deformation of the gas-tight membrane (30), it hits the cutting element (27.3) and the gas-tight membrane (30) at least at one location to create a flow connection between an interior (21.2) of the emergency degassing device (10) and an exterior (21.1) of the emergency degassing device (10) through the gas passage opening (27.2). For improved moisture protection of the receiving housing, provision is made in accordance with the invention for at least one mount (29) to be provided in or on the housing (20), to which at least one air passage (29.2) is assigned between the interior (21.2) and the exterior (21.1), wherein the air passage(s) (29.2) is/are covered by means of at least one venting element (74) in the form of a gas-permeable membrane.

U.S. Patent No. 12,752,617 entitled “Saddle-Ride Motorcycle of Scooter Type with Hybrid Propulsion” issued August 6, 2026 to Piaggio & C. S.p.A. of Pontedera, Italy. Invented by Andrea Raffaelli and Mario Donato Santucci also of Pontedera, Italy. Abstract: A saddle-ride motorcycle comprises a drive wheel and a hybrid-type propulsion unit. The propulsion unit comprises a thermal combustion engine which includes a drive shaft, a first transmission assembly mechanically connecting the drive shaft to the drive wheel and an electric machine which can be operated independently of/in combination with the thermal combustion engine. The propulsion unit further comprises a second transmission assembly mechanically connecting a rotor of the electric machine to the drive wheel and separated from the first transmission assembly. The motorcycle also comprises a support bracket shaped to rotatably support the drive wheel and having the electric machine mounted thereon. The rotation axis of the rotor of the electric machine is parallel with respect to a rotation axis of the drive wheel. Furthermore, the rotation axis of the rotor is placed in an offset position with respect to the rotation axis of the drive wheel.

U.S. Patent No. 12,752,279 entitled “Crusher for Mineral Materials or Recycled Materials” issued August 6, 2026 to Kleemann GmbH of Goppingen, Germany. Invented by Till Krauss of Rechberghausen, Germany. Abstract: The invention relates to a crusher for mineral materials or recycled materials, in particular rotary impact crushers or jaw crushers, having a crusher unit (10), which has a movable first crusher body (11), in particular a rotor or a crusher jaw, wherein a second crusher body (14), in particular an impact rocker or a crusher jaw, is assigned to the first crusher body (11), wherein a crushing gap (15) is formed between the crusher bodies (11, 14), wherein a movable assembly of an overload triggering device (30) is coupled to the first or to the second crusher body (11, 14), wherein the movable assembly has a cylinder (25) of a hydraulic cylinder (20) or a piston (23) guided in the cylinder (20), wherein the movable assembly is designed to permit a motion of the coupled crusher body (11, 14) increasing the width of the crushing gap (15) in an evasive motion, wherein a pressure chamber (24) is formed in the hydraulic cylinder (20), which pressure chamber is delimited by a piston (23), and wherein the overload triggering device (30) has a valve (23.8), which, in its open position, establishes a fluid-conveying connection between the pressure chamber (24) and a compensation area (28) and, in the closed valve position, blocks this connection. In order to achieve an efficient protection of the crusher unit 10 against overload situations in such a crusher, provision is made for the valve (28.8) to be formed between two components of the movable assembly that are movable relative to each other.

U.S. Patent No. 12,752,710 entitled “Deployable Step Assembly for an Agricultural Utility Vehicle” issued August 6, 2026 to Deere & Company of Moline, Illinois. Invented by Pratul Vishwakarma of Koraon, India; Piyush K. Choudhary of Pune, India; Vilas Deshmukh of Malkapur, India; and Anjaliben Patel of Pune, India. Abstract: A step assembly for providing ingress to and egress from a utility vehicle. The step assembly includes a movable frame, a latch, and an actuation lever. The movable frame supports a plurality of steps and is configured to be movable relative to the utility vehicle between a stowed position and a deployed position. The latch is configured to selectively lock the movable frame in the stowed position and the deployed position. The actuation lever is operatively coupled to the latch and configured to unlock the movable frame from the stowed position to allow movement of the movable frame towards the deployed position. The actuation lever is also configured to unlock the movable frame from the deployed position to allow movement of the movable frame towards the stowed position.

U.S. Patent No. 12,752,994 entitled “Stored Value Card and Carrier System and Method of Manufacturing” issued August 6, 2026 to Stored Value Solutions, Inc. of Louisville, Kentucky. Invented by James W. Polk JR. and Dustin B. Szwed both also of Louisville, Kentucky. Abstract: A stored value card and carrier system comprising a carrier and a stored value card. The carrier including first and second panels. The first and second panels may be coupled together to define a chamber therein having four sides. The chamber may be sealed on each of the four sides such that egress to an interior of the chamber is substantially prevented. The stored value card may have activation indicia displayed thereon. The stored value card may have activation indicia displayed thereon. The stored value card may be situated within the chamber and adhered to at least one inner surface of the chamber. Accessing of the activation indicia of the stored value card may necessarily correspond with destruction of at least one of the first and second panels.

U.S. Patent No. 12,751,375 entitled “Bale Moisture Measurement” issued August 6, 2026 to Deere & Company of Moline, Illinois. Invented by Daniel E. Derscheid of Ottumwa, Iowa and Jeremy M. Erdmann of Floris, Iowa. Abstract: A baler implement includes a main frame, a baling chamber, a compressing member, a first input assembly, a second input assembly, a weight sensor, and a baler controller. The compressing member compresses the bale within the baling chamber. The first input assembly senses data related to variable dimension of the bale. The second input assembly senses data correlated to a dry matter density of the bale. The weight sensor sense data related to a total weight of the bale in the baling chamber. The baler controller receives the signal indicative of the total weight of the bale from the weight sensor, calculates a moisture weight of the bale based on a numerical difference between the total weight of the bale and a dry matter weight of the bale, and communicates the moisture weight of the bale to a communicator.
